ARTICLE VI
OFFICERS
Section 6.1 Officers. The officers of the
Association shall be:
a. President
b. Vice President-President Elect
c. Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Immediate Past-President
The responsibilities of each officer shall be set
forth in Policy and Procedure.
Section 6.2 Qualifications.
a. Only active and retired members in good standing
can hold an office.
b. Only one office may be held by the same person at
any one time.
Section 6.3 Term of Office. The term of office shall
be two years. The elected person will assume office
July 1 following being elected. No elected person may
serve more than two consecutive terms in the same
elected position.
Section 6.3.1 President at the end of the term in office
assumes the office of immediate past-president.
Section 6.3.2 Vice-President-President Elect will be
elected in odd numbered years, and shall automatically
assume the office of President at the end of the
President's term.
Section 6.3.3 Secretary will be elected in the even
numbered years. Section 6.3.4 Treasurer will be elected
in odd numbered years. Section 6.4 Vacancies. Any vacancy
of an office shall be filled by the vote of the Board for the
remainder of the term with the exception of President,
which is automatically filled by the
Vice-President/President elect.
Section 6.5 Removal. An officer may be removed from
his/her position by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Board
when in its judgment the best interest of the Association
would be served. Such action shall be provided that the
officer upon request has an opportunity to have a hearing
providing for due process as described in Robert’s Rules
of Order Newly Revised.
Section 6.6 Compensation. Officers shall not receive
any compensation for their services as such, but may be
reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in the
performance of their duties as approved by the Board of
Directors.
ARTICLE VII
COMMITTEES
Section 7.1 The Association shall have the following
standing committees:
a. Finance
b. Nominating
c. Membership/Public Relations
d. Bylaws
e. Education
f. Government Affairs
g. Newsletter
h. Policy & Procedure
i. Research
Section 7.2 The purpose and duties of each of the
standing committees shall be listed in the Policy and
Procedure.
Section 7.3 The chairperson and members shall be
appointed as set forth in Policy & Procedure.
